Beer Can House
222 Malone St, Houston, TX 713-926-6368
Description: John Milkovisch, a retired upholsterer for Southern Pacific Railroad, never thought people would care; he just loved drinking his beer and being outside cutting up the cans. He started his beer can house in 1968 and it is now estimated that over 50,000 cans are recycled into this sprawling work of art. Cans were not the only material he used - bottles, marbles, rocks and metal trinkets decorate the property in fences, paved walkways, and planters.
